Editing Brush in Luminar

The editing brush is a very powerful tool that allows you to apply changes only to a certain part of your photo. To use the brush, simply click on the tool and pain over the area you want to change (you are creating a "mask" by doing this). Luminar allows you to change the size, opacity and softness of the brush. You can also use the brush to erase the mask from a part of the image. If you are not sure what kind of brush to choose, try one of the default brush sizes first.

Brushes are especially handy when you want to apply an edit only to a certain object or part of an object. For example a face, a car, a sky, a tree.  Luminar allows you to use the brush to apply the mask to a certain filter, as well as to the whole layer. Click here to learn more about the difference in masking with the layer and masking with the filter. You can also use the editing brush to select the objects you plan to remove from the photo. Simply pick the brush, mask over the object with the brush and click erase.

If you don’t have a photo editor for your Mac yet, please visit the Luminar page and download a free trial. Or you could get the full version of the software for an affordable price, with access to over 300 great tools and features. Luminar is the world’s first photo editor that adapts to your skill level. Have fun editing with Luminar by Skylum, and enjoy the video.
