How do I activate Luminar 2018?
1. Launch Luminar 2018.
2. Click "Activate" on the welcome screen and enter your email + activation code, then click the “Activate” button.
3. To activate Luminar from inside the software, click on Luminar 2018 in the top menu and click "Activate..". Then enter your activation code + email.
Once you’re done activating your new software, take an extra minute to set up your very own My Skylum Account here: https://skylum.com/user/signup. Thereafter, you’ll be able to to access your license keys and download links for your Skylum software, plus enter photo contests and view exclusive videos.
I’ve purchased Luminar 2018. However, it doesn’t show in my Skylum Account.
Please note that Luminar 2018 will appear in My Software section of your Skylum Account only after you activate it with your license key and the e-mail you’ve used to create your Skylum Account. If that is not the case, you’re welcome to reach our support team: https://skylum.com/support
How do I install Luminar 2018 as a plug-in?
To install Luminar 2018 as a plug-in, launch the application as a standalone and open any image. Then click on the Luminar 2018 menu > Install Plug-ins... In the resulting dialog, click on the Install button next to your desired host applications. Please note that you’ll be asked to enter the password to your Mac.
How do I install and use Luminar 2018 as a Photos extension?
First of all, please make sure the operating system on your Mac is not older than 10.11. To install Luminar 2018 as a Photos extension, please follow the steps below:
Launch Luminar 2018 and load any photo.
Launch Photos application and open the image you want to edit in Luminar 2018.
In the top-right corner click on Edit > Extensions.
Select Luminar 2018 as an extension for editing photos.
Finally, Luminar 2018 will be available as an extension in Photos.
How to open a LUT file in Luminar 2018 on Mac?
A LUT (Look Up Table) is, in essence, is like a preset. It is a modifier based on a mathematical formula between two images – the original image and the displayed image. A LUT can also be used creatively to impose a specific ‘look’ on a source image, such as creating a high contrast or bleach-bypass look.
Please choose LUT Mapping filter and click on Load LUT file… button to upload your custom LUT file. Currently, Luminar 2018 supports .cube, .3dl, .look and .csp formats.

How do I install presets?
Launch the standalone version of Luminar 2018 and open any image. Then click the File menu > Add Custom Preset Pack.
I have PC and Mac. Can I install Luminar 2018 on both devices?
We know that a lot of people have several computers in use, so Luminar 2018 may be installed on up to 5 devices (both Mac and PC) owned by the same person. You’ll simply need to use a single email and a single activation code.

Luminar 2018 RAW processing is based on our own powerful RAW engine. We regularly update our library and make our own improvements to provide perfect support for new cameras.

Does Luminar 2018 have a DAM platform?
We're working on a fantastic digital asset manager ("DAM") which will work like magic with the hard drives you already own and with any cloud storage platform you want to use. You’ll even be able to run it along with your LR library to compare both DAMs side by side and choose the one that works best for you.
This feature will be added to Luminar in 2018, and will be a free update to everyone who owns Luminar 2018. We know that there are many companies who try to convince you to move from Lightroom, but we want to ensure we get it right and provide you with a tool that you’ll enjoy and use every day. We'll be releasing more details soon.
What languages are supported?
Can I batch process my photos in Luminar 2018?
Yes! Luminar 2018 has a powerful built-in batch processing tool which can be used to post-process multiple images in a few clicks. You can apply any of the built-in presets, or those you’ve imported or created yourself, as well as specify image size, format and other export options. You will see the "Batch processing" option upon launching Luminar 2018.
You can also start batch processing when Luminar 2018 is open by clicking on the File > Batch Processing.. menu or simply by using combination CMD+B. Thereafter, choose the images you’d like to batch process and set the appropriate controls in the Batch Processing options window.
Can I erase unwanted objects from the photo in Luminar?
Yes, you can erase unwanted objects from your photos. Simply choose Tools menu > Erase and use the brush to mark those items you’d like erased. You can also use the Clone & Stamp tool.
I’ve heard that I can even replace a sky in Luminar - wow! How do I do that?
Replacing skies is just one of many cool tricks you’ll be able to perform with Luminar 2018. Essentially, you open a “sky” image as a new separate layer and then resize and blend it into the original image.
