I'm just getting started. What tools should I try?

Templates are the core of the editing workflow in LuminarAI. Start with Templates and browse the suggestions to find something you love. If you need to tweak your results further, jump to the Edit tab, where you’ll find a whole variety of tools. Try СompositionAI to find inspiring new ideas for creating a fresh composition. You can also try AccentAI, SkyAI, and AtmosphereAI to enhance your landscapes. For portraits, BodyAI and FaceAI will work wonders.

What tools work best for landscape photos?

Templates will give you lots of suggestions for how to transform your landscapes into masterpieces. Then you can adjust your results with AccentAI, SkyAI, and AtmosphereAI in the Edit tab.

Which tools are best for portraits?

Browse the recommended Templates to find a great idea that works for your portrait. Then fine-tune your result in the Edit tab. You can use BodyAI to shape bodies without tedious masks and layers. Experiment with FaceAI to enhance facial features. You can even change your subject’s eye color in a click with IrisAI.

How can I replace the sky in my photo?

You can easily add a compelling sky to your photo with the SkyAI tool. Follow the instructions below to get started:

  • Load a picture with a sky that you want to replace in LuminarAI.
  • In the top toolbar, select the Edit tab.
  • Select the Creative tab (the palette icon) on the right side of the application window.
  • Choose the SkyAI tool and use the Sky Selection drop-down menu to choose from a library of sample skies to get familiar with SkyAI.

Have your own sky texture that you’d like to try out?

  • Scroll down the list of preinstalled skies and choose Load Custom Sky Image.
  • A dialog window will open in which you’ll need to navigate to the folder with your skies and choose the one you want to place in your picture.
  • Confirm your selection and enjoy SkyAI!

Note: SkyAI will work with your own photos if they’re in JPEG, PNG, or TIFF format.

If you’d like to add your own skies to the default menu, go to the Sky Selection drop-down menu and choose Show Custom Skies. Then copy your own skies into the folder that opens. We recommend keeping no more than 50 skies loaded at a time for better performance.

How can I add new Templates in LuminarAI?

Here's a quick guide on how to install Template Collections in LuminarAI.

Template Collections for LuminarAI have the .ltc extension. Installing a Template Collection is simple.

If you’re on Windows:

  • Launch LuminarAI.
  • In the top toolbar, choose File > Add LuminarAI Template Collection.
  • In the window that opens, navigate to the folder where your downloaded Template Collection file (.ltc) is located and select it.
  • Done! The new Templates will appear in the Templates tab under the My collection > Purchased collection.

If you’re on macOS:

  • Launch LuminarAI.
  • In the top toolbar, choose File > Add LuminarAI Template Collection.
  • In the window that opens, navigate to the folder where your downloaded Template Collection file (.ltc) is located and select it.
  • Done! The new Templates will appear in the Templates tab in the My collection > Purchased collection.
