How To Use Luminar Ecosystem For A Smooth Editing Flow

Luminar recently got a major new update, and part of that is the brand new Luminar Ecosystem. It’s an absolute game changer for photographers from the beginners to the professional with extremely useful tools for all. The whole purpose of Luminar Ecosystem is to streamline your workflow from start to end, including presenting and sharing your work. It offers you more flexibility in your editing process too, especially those that use both Luminar Mobile and Luminar Neo, making your editing feel more connected.

You can now move between devices, organise your work in one central place, and then share your photos in a clean and professional presentation, and it’s all done seamlessly without any technical set-up. The Luminar Ecosystem offers cross-device editing from Luminar Mobile to Luminar Neo, and the completely free to use Spaces to showcase your work.

Let’s jump straight in, and learn more about these exciting new features.

What is the Luminar Ecosystem?

Let’s start with cross-device editing. For those who use both Luminar Mobile and Luminar Neo, you’re in for a treat. You can now begin an edit on Luminar Mobile and then take it to the desktop, opening it exactly where you left off in Luminar Neo. There is now a feature called Luminar Space, which acts as the home for all of your cross-device edits and can be accessed on both your mobile device and your desktop. The synchronisation is seamless, so whether you start your edit while out on a shoot or at home, you can instantly continue on your desktop with Luminar Neo.Luminat Space in Luminar Mobile | Skylum How-to

Next up is Spaces, an online gallery that you can share with family, friends or even clients. The best part is you don’t need to worry about web design, programming or anything technical, as it’s all handled for you. Your work is displayed in a clean, high quality webpage, with options to view your images as a collection or in full screen.

You can then grab the link and share your photos. This is especially useful for professional photographers who want to show clients the final shots of a project. Your client no longer needs to download files from cloud storage, as they can simply view everything through your Spaces page.

But we will get into Spaces later. Let’s take a look at how to use cross-device editing next.

Cross-Device Editing

To set up cross-device editing, you must be signed into the same account on both Luminar Mobile and Luminar Neo, with an active licence on each. This allows your photos to synchronise across your devices.

Getting Started with Luminar Mobile

Begin by opening a photo inside Luminar Mobile and making some changes. You can make a couple of quick adjustments or complete almost the entire edit. Either way, the file will now be available for cross-device editing.Editing photos in Luminar Mobile | Skylum How-to

When you are ready to move to Luminar Neo, tap the back button beneath your photo. You will now see that your gallery is labelled Luminar Space. These are the photos stored within the Luminar Ecosystem that are ready for cross-device work. Your photos will sync automatically, but if you prefer you can tap the cloud icon at the top or drag the page down to re-sync the folder. Once this is done, you are ready to switch over to Luminar Neo.
