Frequently Asked Questions

  • I get an 'OpenGL 3.3' version error.

The new version of Luminar requires at least OpenGL 3.3 for a smooth performance.

If you have two GPUs (integrated and dedicated) on your PC there's a chance an integrated one is used by default.

Try to right-click on a Luminar2018 icon -> Run with Graphics Processor -> Your dedicated graphics card.

If the same issue remains, you can install a previous version of Luminar 2018 that works fine with older OpenGL libraries (temporary solution).  Just reach out to our support team at support@skylum.com.

  • How to open a LUT file in Luminar 2018 on Mac?

A LUT (Look Up Table) is, in essence, is like a preset. It is a modifier based on a mathematical formula between two images – the original image and the displayed image. A LUT can also be used creatively to impose a specific ‘look’ on a source image, such as creating a high contrast or bleach-bypass look.

Please choose LUT Mapping filter and click on Load LUT file… button to upload your custom LUT file. Currently, Luminar 2018 supports .cube, .3dl, .look and .csp formats.

  • How can I transfer my presets from Luminar Neptune to Luminar 2018?

Launch Luminar Neptune and load any photo. After that, simply chose File > Show Presets Folder.... Luminar presets have the file extension .lmp.

Presets folder contains all the presets you've added to Luminar Neptune.

Custom folder contains the presets you've created.

To copy presets to Luminar 2018,  just choose File > Show Presets Folder... in Luminar 2018 and simply copy and paste desired presets (or folders with presets) from Luminar Neptune to Luminar 2018.
